What is tallow and why do you use it?
Tallow is a traditional, nutrient-rich fat rendered from beef. It closely matches the natural oils of our skin, making it deeply nourishing and gentle. At Hearth & Acres, we use tallow for its simplicity, effectiveness, and time-tested benefits.

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, our products are made with minimal, carefully selected ingredients and are designed to be gentle. Many customers with sensitive skin find tallow-based skincare calming and supportive.
As always, we recommend patch testing first.

Do your products contain preservatives or synthetic ingredients?
No. We keep things simple. No synthetic fragrances, fillers, or unnecessary additives. Just purposeful, traditional ingredients.

What is the difference between whipped tallow and tallow balm?
Whipped tallow has a lighter, airy texture that absorbs quickly, making it ideal for daily use.
Tallow balm is richer and more concentrated, perfect for dry areas, overnight use, or targeted skin support.

What does the frankincense do?
Frankincense has been traditionally used in skincare for its soothing and skin-supporting properties. It pairs beautifully with tallow to help support healthy-looking skin.

How do I use the products?
A little goes a long way. Warm a small amount between your fingers and gently massage into the skin.

Will the tallow feel greasy?
When used in small amounts, it absorbs well into the skin. Start with less than you think. you can always add more.

How should I store my products?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Because our products are natural, they may soften in warm temperatures.

Do your products melt?
Yes. tallow is a natural product and can soften or melt in heat. This doesn’t affect quality. If needed, simply place in a cool area to re-solidify.

Can I use this on babies or children?
Many of our products are designed with gentle, family-friendly ingredients.
However, we always recommend patch testing and using your own judgement for young or sensitive skin.

Can your products be used for different skin concerns?
Our products are multi-purpose and often used on dry skin, rough patches, and everyday skin care needs.
We focus on simple, supportive skincare rather than making medical claims.

When will my order be shipped?
Orders are shipped Monday to Wednesday to help prevent products sitting in heat over the weekend.

How much is shipping?
We offer a flat rate of $11, with free shipping on orders over $70.

Do you offer local pickup?
Yes. Local pickup may be available on request. Please contact us before ordering.
